Hey, it's James! (Owner Of Matchfit).
It's been almost 8 years since I first took Matchfit online and started selling digital products worldwide.
Whilst I was living in Australia I was lucky enough to have a fitness tutor who was running a successful online fitness training business and showed me how to get set up.
This was at a time when not many trainers were running online businesses, so I was lucky enough to get ahead of the curve and already be making sales online back in 2014.
Over that time I've had some big successes and also some huge obstacles to overcome.
I've invested over £50,000 in online business masterminds
Been ripped off a couple of times
Spent almost half a million pounds on facebook advertising
Brought in over 50,000 new customers
Won a trademark battle against one of Europes biggest gym chains
Sold products ranging from a few pounds to a few thousand
Generate over £1 million in revenue
Not been affected by lockdowns
Sold products over the phone
Built and trained a sales team
Managed a team of coaches
Not been a slave to posting on social media
Made sales consistently, every single day for 8 years straight
Been able to help players all over the world step up to pro and international football
And that's just the business side...
I've also been able to raise my two little boys, move to the countryside and have the freedom to travel any time and work on something every day that I'm extremely passionate about.
But, especially if you're a beginner, running an online business can be tough. In fact after spending a couple of weeks posting on instagram or spending £100 on facebook ads and seeing no results, many even think it's impossible, give up and go back to their day job.
It's much, much more difficult to make a sale online compared to in-person, but it's definitely not impossible.
At the end of the day, you are relying on complete strangers who know nothing about you to trust you enough to spend money with you, ideally within 30 minutes of meeting you, over and over again.
It can take years of repeated failures, testing and hard work to get to that point.
I've been in the world of Sports Science and S&C for 16 years now, I find it fascinating but I also love talking to people about the business and marketing side just as much.
Especially showing friends and family how it all works, it can blow peoples minds when they see how it all works on automation and what's actually possible when you have a product which can be sold at infinite scale around the world.
I decided that this year I want to start helping a few people who want to build an online coaching business, or already have one but need help.
Ofcourse my main focus is still on running Matchfit, so I'll only be able to help a few people at a time.
If you think that might interest you, click below and complete the form and then I'll email you when I have an opening.
...Just as a side note, you might have seen dropshipping YouTubers who make out it's super easy to make online sales, but there are a couple of things to consider here:
1. How sustainable is a business which has products which sell for a week at a time before dying?
2. Selling physical products online is easier than selling digital products, especially sports coaching products to athletes. That comes with it's own unique challenges in terms of both delivering it and marketing it, and is renowned as being one of the most difficult niches to make a success of online.
3. Many products are saturated and competition online is at an all time high, you have to be unique and have a brand if you want to stand out and have a sustainable business.
If you'd like to get my help, click above and register your interest whilst I'm still offering the opportunity (if things get too busy with Matchfit I may take this page down).
Your coach,
James
